What is CorkSol render used for?
CorkSol is a type of spray-on wall coating that is increasingly being used in place of traditional sand and cement-based renders. It’s predominantly made from cork, so it’s eco-friendly, and it shares many of the same properties as this natural material.
CorkSol render can be used to:
- Overspray on solid render. If the existing render is solid we can respray a top coat onto existing without the need to replace old render or basecoat.
- cover stains and signs of ageing
- give your home a modern, stylish, and uniform finish in the colour of your choice
- insulate your home from the outside-in
- TIWI, thin internal wall insulation – used to protect and insulate internal walls and can be skimmed over
Cork is a natural insulator, which makes it ideal for rendering your exterior walls, and it’s more effective than traditional sand/cement renders.
It acts like a thermal blanket wrapped around your house, stopping heat from escaping – a whopping 30% reduction. With CorkSol render you can save up to 15% on your heating bills and cut your carbon emissions.

Silicone-based renders, coatings, and fillers are the only materials not suitable for use with sprayed-on cork.
